OFFICE AND BUILDING SERVICES MANAGER

Our Office and Building Services Manager, Yvonne Dudman, has been with the Nursery from the onset of the Nursery opening in September 1991, assisting the Principal with the initial set-up of the Nursery. Yvonne is our catering supervisor for the kitchen, overseeing the cook and menu planning. She is also responsible for the administration in the office and the maintenance around the Nursery. Although Yvonne is not strictly qualified, she has vast experience within the Nursery. Yvonne has obtained her Health & Hygiene certificate and has also attended an emergency paediatric first aid course.
Our senior staff members, who are identified by a different uniform to our usual lilac and grey, liase frequently with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager. Many of our staff are qualified Nursery Nurses with a certificate in First Aid and either a National Nursery Examination Board Certificate (NNEB), BTec National Diploma in Nursery Nursing or NVQ3 in Childcare and Education. They will usually have received a two year professional training qualification, with practical experience in nurseries and primary schools, the home, day nurseries and special care centres.

The Nursery Assistants also are all dedicated and sensitive to the needs of the children. Assistants have a range of age and experience, some possessing other qualifications, most are working toward their NVQ II or NVQ III.

Our staff are encouraged to participate in courses and further their professional development. Many have attended courses in emergency paediatric first aid. Youngsters from local secondary schools can enjoy observation and some involvement with children as part of their work experience programme.
