EDUCATION |
|
| Children will be given the utmost care and individual attention where good relationships with regular staff can develop. All of the children in our care are encouraged to co-operate in small groups so that social skills, personal relationships and confidence can be developed. |

The Nursery will essentially be a place where children will have friendship and fun, where they will be involved with discovery, creative and imaginative play, both of a structured and open ended nature. Children will have opportunities for free play enabling them to make their own decisions and develop independence. |
| All children have the opportunity for fresh air and outdoor play in the three separate playground areas. Children maybe taken on purposeful outings which are often used as a stimulus for discussion and art work. | |
|
|
|
| Activities will vary according to individual needs and those of the age group and cover many aspects
of learning. Activities on offer include wet sand, dry sand, dough, clay, water play, cooking, creative work using paint
and a variety of materials. There are constructional toys, puzzles and games. There are book corners and quiet areas,
opportunities for music and movement activities and many materials for writing and drawing.

COMMUNICATION |
|
| We encourage good verbal communication with parents as this is a two way process of current ideas. At Forbury Gardens Day Nursery we recognise parents as the prime educators and we believe that your wishes are paramount. We believe that parents and staff should work closely together to ensure the continuity between home and the Nursery and we welcome any relevant information, suggestions, or constructive criticism you care to provide. | |

| Parents are requested to respect the care, commitment and expertise of the staff who have to make informed professional judgements on the knowledge of the individual child and their needs. Staff are always available to discuss your child's welfare, whether on a daily or long term basis. |
| Parents will also help their children if they are supportive of the Nursery, become involved and interested, show praise and encouragement to staff as well as to children. |
